Dr. Abbey Nelson, originally from eastern South Dakota, and an alum of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN is a full-scope optometrist with a special interest in ocular disease, dry eye and pediatrics. Following optometry school at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, Dr. Nelson proudly served seven and a half years in the United States Navy. While on active duty, she completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care Optometry through the Illinois College of Optometry. The Navy afforded Dr. Nelson and her husband the opportunity to travel all around Asia, experience a different way of life and try so many types of cuisine. When not in clinic Dr. Nelson enjoys reading a good book, tending to the garden, cheering on the Nuggets, drinking coffee, brushing up on Spanish language skills, and planning the next adventure while sitting on a patio (with adequate SPF, of course!). Dr. Nelson prides herself in providing personalized comprehensive care and for all of her patients to feel heard and understood.
